Riverhawks Can’t Keep Up with Grizzlies

Dropping its second straight contest to open the season, the Toledo volleyball team fell in straight sets to a taller Hoquiam side, 25-12, 25-15, 25-16, Thursday night in Toledo.

Lyndzie Filla picked up 14 digs for the Riverhawks (0-2) in three sets, and in the third set, Stephanie Arceo-Hansen had a 66% hitting percentage to lead the way for Toledo.

“We just didn’t have enough offense to match their height,” coach Kelli Larson said. “Defensively, we hustled after a lot of balls and played well as a team.”

The Riverhawks take on Tenino next Tuesday for their next match.
