A repeat DUI offender arrested in Centralia last month for driving while drunk has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison.
Christian Carlos Rodriguez, 27, of Centralia, pleaded guilty March 6 in Lewis County Superior court to one count each of felony DUI, first-degree driving with a suspended or revoked license and an ignition interlock violation.
He was sentenced that same day to 57 months in prison.
The prison sentence will run consecutive to any sentences imposed in two active Thurston County Superior Court cases.
Rodriguez was charged in April 2022 for felony DUI and for driving with a suspended license, and was again charged for felony DUI and driving with a suspended license in Feb. 2024.
He entered guilty pleas in both cases in October 2024 and was sentenced to 24 months in partial confinement via electronic home monitoring while he underwent substance abuse treatment.
Bench warrants for Rodriguez’s arrest were issued in December 2024 after he violated his conditions of release, according to court documents.
Other convictions on his record include a 2020 DUI-related vehicular assault, two DUIs from 2019 and other various driving-related charges.
Rodriguez was arrested in Centralia at approximately 3:13 a.m. on Feb. 16 after a Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputy clocked him allegedly driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone on North Pearl Street, according to jail records and court documents.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on Rodriguez’s vehicle in the 1100 block of North Gold Street and reportedly noted that Rodriguez showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech and watery and bloodshot eyes, according to court documents.
A judge granted a warrant for a blood draw, which was conducted at approximately 3:24 a.m. on Feb. 17, according to court documents.
Toxicology results were not publicly available as of Friday afternoon.
