RANDLE — The Rainier boys and girls swept the five-team cross country meet at White Pass High School Thursday while Oakville's Amos Whitwam won the boys individual side of the race in 16 minutes, 55 seconds.
The Rainier boys won with 31 points and were followed by Kalama (36) and Onalaska (67). Oakville and White Pass each had incomplete team scores.
The Mountaineer girls were tops with 27 points and were followed by Onalaska (44) and White Pass (53) while Oakville and Kalama didn't have enough runners to score as a team.
For the Onalaska girls, Melissa Dalmeny (21:40) and Kim Richardson (22:53) finished in second and third places, respectively, while White Pass' Amanda Christiansen (24:11) and Cori Kruger (25:24) were fifth and ninth, respectively.
Oakville's Brittany Olson was sixth with a time of 24:40.
On the boys side, Whitwam picked up his first-place finish while the Panthers' A.J. Hahn was second with a time of 17:11.
"A.J. ran a great race," White Pass coach Steve Roberts said. "He took a few seconds off his best course time."
White Pass's Jason Gonzalez was fifth at 18:16 while Onalaska's Jeremy Sayad (18:32) and Dale Grauman (18:51) finished in eighth and 12th places, respectively.
White Pass is at the Onalaska meet on Thursday.
