An 80-year-old Rainier man died following a crash on U.S. Highway 12 in Salkum on March 15, according to a news release by the Washington State Patrol on Friday morning.
Donald B. Bell was identified as the victim of the crash.
Bell was traveling west on U.S. Highway 12 at mile marker 79 just west of Salkum at about 3 p.m. March 15 when his vehicle struck the westbound ditch, rolled and came to a rest on its top, according to the state patrol.
Drugs or alcohol are believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol, which listed speed as the cause of the crash. It’s unknown if Bell was wearing a seat belt.
His 2002 Ford Ranger was totaled in the crash.
