The Rainier softball team won its eighth straight game on Monday, defeating Morton-White Pass 18-4 in five innings.
The Timberwolves took an early lead with a pair of runs in the first, but the Mountaineers got going at the plate in the second, where they scored 10 runs.
Three more in the third and five in the fourth was more than enough to push the game into run-rule territory.
Keira Anderson hit her fifth home run of the year as part of her 4 for 4 day, and she finished the afternoon with five runs batted in. Layla Hill also went 4 for 4, and she drove in four runs.
Ellyana Henry went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBIs, and Ryleigh Cruse struck out six and didn’t allow an earned run in her five innings in the circle.
Bria Elkins, Ryelin Weidenmann, and Izzy Loucks collected two hits each for the T-Wolves. Elkins and Loucks combined to drive in three runs, while Weidenmann scored three.
Both teams will be back on Thursday, when MWP (5-6, 0-2 C2BL) will host Napavine in White Pass and Rainier (8-2, 3-0 C2BL) heads to Adna.
