Providence has amended its visitation policies to allow one essential support person per patient in hospitals and clinics. The policy went into effect Thursday.
“At Providence we have always felt that families and loved ones of patients are a large part of the healing process,” said Providence in a press release. “We are confident we have all the safety precautions in place to keep all patients, caregivers and essential support persons safe within our facilities.”
All “emotional support persons” must be 18 years or older and they will only be allowed entry if they screen negative for COVID-19 symptoms.
Visitations to some departments, such as progressive care units, surgical inpatient units, central observation units and critical care units, are limited to two hours per day. For more information, visit https://coronavirus.providence.org/blog/uf/619849763.
