The Adna boys golf team earned a close win over Rainier on Thursday, when the Pirates beat the Mountaineers 170-175.
Trevin Salme led the way for Adna with a 38, and Brodey Luurs, Alex Smith, and Preston Cardin finished one stroke apart with a 43, 44, and 45, respectively.
“We’re playing some solid, consistent golf at the right time of year,” Adna coach Luke Salme said. “If we can keep playing like this next week, we could have multiple boys qualify for state.”
Rainier had two golfers break 40, as Joshua Peralya and Thomas Sprouffske carded 39s, while Riley Lynch added a 47 and Moroni Jackson logged a 50.
Napavine’s Riley Griffith also shot nine, carding a 42, which ended up being the fourth-best score of the day.
The 2B District 4 Tournament is set for Wednesday and Thursday, May 7 and 8, at Mint Valley Golf Course in Longview.
