One day after earning a walk-off victory, the Adna baseball team couldn’t get anything going offensively, as the Pirates were shutout by Toutle Lake 2-0 on Thursday.
The outcome puts both the Pirates (12-3) and Ducks at 12-2 in C2BL play, leaving them deadlocked atop the league standings.
The Pirates were stifled by Connor Cox all day, managing just three hits off the Portland commit. Cameron Nakano logged Adna’s only extra-base hit of the day, a one-out double in the top of the fourth.
Nakano did his part on the mound, allowing just four hits and two runs in six strong innings, but ended up on the hook for the loss.
Adna will host Pe Ell-Willapa Valley on Friday, and then it will welcome Wahkiakum for a league doubleheader on Monday.
