Alvie E. Peek, 91, of Cent-ralia, WA died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Liberty Country Place Care Facility in Centralia. He was born in 1914 outside of Lincoln, Nebraska and was raised around Scottsbluff. In the early 30's he moved to the northwest where he met and married Dorothy Weil in August of 1937.

He worked for the Simpson Door plant in McCleary for 44 years and retired in 1978. He was active in the Home Guard during WWII and a member of the McCleary Fire Department for 30 years where he served as chief several times. Alvie enjoyed outdoor life, playing horse shoes, and playing Pinochle.

His wife Dorothy, after 49 years of marriage, passed away in 1986. However, he is survived by two sisters, Francis Forney of Madrid, Nebraska and Alice Dick-enson of Piedmont, Miss-ouri; one daughter, Lois Hazlett of Streeter, N.D.; five sons, George of Brush, Colorado, James of Elma, WA, Lee of Olympia, WA, Edward of Grayland, WA, and Robert of Elma, WA; 19 grandchildren, numer-ous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alvie married a second time in July of 1988 to Dorothy Burger. They lived in Centralia where they were members of the Bethel Assembly of God church in Chehalis.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Belling-ham, WA and four step-daughters, Rhoda Mack and Darlene Garner, both of Bellingham, WA, Ruth Wheeler and Doris Down-ey, both of California, and several step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. and after the conclusion of the service. Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma.
