Simba Osman scored in the 55rd minute by an assist from Brayan Orellana-Gamez and Centralia fended of King’s Way Christian for a 1-0, non-league road win on Friday.
“This was a total, team defensive effort,” Centralia coach Henry Gallanger said. “Every guy contributed. Every guy worked hard. This is a huge, team bounce back game.”
The Tigers entered the match hungry after losing an early lead against Rochester early and surrendering four unanswered goals in a 4-1 loss on Tuesday. Against the Knights, they were locked in.
“We came into this game not underestimating them,” Gallanger said. “(We) played with intensity, worked as a team and played well for each other with passion and energy.”
Tiger keeper Victory Reyes posted a clean sheet in goal and was praised by Gallanger for his efforts in fending off King's Way shots.
Centralia will look to keep its momentum when it hosts Aberdeen in a 2A Evergreen Conference match at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
