Bail has been set at $50,000 for an Onalaska man accused of assaulting and threatening to kill two Napavine Police officers who arrested him on an outstanding Chehalis Municipal Court warrant on April 16.

According to court documents, one of the officers asked if the defendant, Deago G. Perez, had a gun and Perez allegedly replied “that if he had a gun, he would put a bullet in (the officer)’s head.”

Officers searched Perez prior to his arrest and found “a couple of bullets in Perez’ pocket” and later searched his backpack, which contained a .357 Magnum pistol.

Perez allegedly “became combative,” according to court documents, to the point where “the officers had to forcibly place him in the patrol car.  Perez allegedly “said he was going to blow both their (the officers’) heads off, and would find and kill their families.”

Perez was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 7:30 p.m. on April 16. His next court appearance is an arraignment hearing scheduled for Thursday, April 22.
