Onalaska Boys First at Ocosta Invitational

Onalaska took first as a team on the boys’ side of things at the Ocosta Invitational on Saturday, with Tenino coming in second.

Senior Ben Russon finished second overall for the Loggers with a time of 20:52 on the 5,000-meter course.

Isaac Fitch placed sixth at 22:29, Cole Russon got eighth at 22:37m and Taden Miller just missed out on the top 10, finishing with a time of 22:59 to place 11th. David Locklin capped the Loggers’ team score with a 26th-best time of 28:15.



Tenino’s Tristan Von Bargen ran the course in 22:25, good for fifth, and Tanis Von Bargen was 15 seconds behind him, finishing in ninth.

The Beavers’ freshman duo of Justin Schlesner (23:05) and Carter Mounts (23:40) finished back-to-back in 13th and 14th, respectively, while Jayden Merritt came in 21st at 25:43.

On the girl’s side, Tenino freshman Haley Huber led all local competitors with a fifth-place time of 27:07. Fellow Beaver Brynn Williams came in ninth at 28:09. Hannah Wilson, the lone Onalaska runner on the course, finished in 36:28.
