Olympia police are looking for a bank robbery suspect.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, a man wearing a mask entered the Umpqua Bank branch in the 2800 block of Harrison Avenue Northwest, Olympia police Lt. Paul Lower said.

The man had a sock over one hand which appeared to show the outline of a gun underneath it, Lower said. He pointed the sock-covered hand at the teller and demanded money. The teller complied, Lower said.

Police were dispatched after 911 received a silent robbery alarm. When police arrived, employees were standing outside the bank. The suspect had fled and police searched the area, Lower said.

Police says the suspect is 6 feet tall and has a slim build. He was last seen with the mask, sock-covered hand and a gray camouflage sweatshirt that was pulled tight around his head.
