Olympia Federal Savings announces new Chehalis branch

Olympia Federal Savings has announced that its new branch in Lewis County is set to open in Chehalis later this summer.

The branch, which will be located at 535 N. Market Blvd., will be a full-service financial center equipped with the latest banking technology for efficient and effective customer care and support, including an ATM accessible from the downtown sidewalk, according to a news release from the company.

“It’s been 10 years since we opened our last branch, so we were very deliberate in choosing Lewis County, which is a community focused on delivering a high-quality of life and where neighbors take care of neighbors,” Josh Deck, Olympia Federal Savings president and CEO, said. “We are a bank that has grown organically for the past 119 years, going where our customers have asked us to be. We’ve never purchased a bank and we’ve never been acquired by another financial institution. It’s just not who we are.”

The release stated that in the last two years, the bank has originated close to $16 million in affordable home loans designed to help households with incomes at or below 80% of median income.

Olympia Federal Savings has received 147 straight quarters of a five-star superior rating from Bauer Financial, an independent rating agency. Only 1% of the nation’s banks have earned Bauer’s top rating for so long and with such consistency, according to the release.

The branch is in the process of permitting and renovations.
