Oakville Picks Up First Win Against Taholah

Playing with a nearly full roster for the first time this season, Oakville came out and dominated Taholah from start to finish in its first win of the season, 52-0.

The Acorns (1-3, 1-1 in league) rushed for 335 yards, had a duo of rushers go over the century mark, and pitched a shutout in strong fashion.

“It felt really good to get the win and have everything come together,” Acorns coach Skyler Davis said. “It felt like a complete game on both sides.”

Oakville was led by Eddie Klatush, who ran the ball 10 times for 200 yards and three touchdowns. Not far behind was Ashton Boyd, who ran it eight times for 133 yards and four total touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, Derek Ruymann had 10 tackles, three for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in a dominant effort. David Spears, who attended Taholah last year, had eight tackles with one coming for loss and a forced fumble. Rounding out the Acorns defenders was Enrique Rivas, who had four tackles and three sacks.

Oakville will look to build on this momentum at Chief Leschi next Friday.
