No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a cabin west of Oakville early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews with Grays Harbor County Fire District 1, Grays Harbor County Fire District 5 and the Riverside Fire Authority responded around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 12 to find the cabin fully ablaze, according to District 1.

Crews were unable to save the cabin but were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a mobile home located 20 feet away from the cabin.

District 1 thanked the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department, the Washington State Patrol and the Washington State Department of Transportation for protecting fire vehicles and crew members along U.S. Highway 12.

The fire department also thanked the Public Utility District for its fast response in dealing with electrical issues.

“Everyone did an outstanding job, it was great team work!” said District 1 in a Facebook post.

Crews cleared the scene just before 8:20 a.m.

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
