Goals came early and often for Napavine on Wednesday against Ilwaco, as the Tigers cruised to a 9-0 victory.
“I’m proud of the way the girls handled themselves,” Napavine coach John Bates said.
Jenna Gallagher opened the scoring in the seventh minute, scoring the first of three Napavine goals in three consecutive minutes. Grace Pancake scored in the eighth, and Hayden Kaut made it 3-0 in the ninth.
Goals four and five also came in quick succession, as Kaut’s second goal, a header off a throw-in from Maya Kunkel, came just two minutes prior to Ava Wilson’s goal in the 18th.
Alexis Schutz made it 6-0 Napavine (6-2, 3-0 C2BL) just before the halftime whistle.
Pancake scored two early in the second half to complete her hat-trick, and Schutz scored her second in the 73rd minute to secure the brace.
At 3-0 in league play, Napavine is tied with Onalaska at the top of the C2BL standings.
The Tigers will host Tonasket in a non-league contest on Saturday before returning to league play on Monday at Toledo.
