The Napavine girls basketball team ended its regular season with a win on Tuesday, as the Tigers cruised past Winlock 58-13.
The Tigers scored the first 21 points of the game en route to opening up a 50-6 lead at halftime.
Hayden Kaut was extremely efficient in her limited time on the floor, as she scored 15 points in just five minutes to lead the Tigers.
In her last home game of her high school career, Grace Pancake added 12 points and seven rebounds. Jessie McCoy, Napavine’s other senior, added two points, three assists, and three steals.
“It was great to send them out with a victory today,” Napavine coach Shane Schutz said.
Schutz commended both seniors for their effort over the years, adding that Pancake didn’t begin playing basketball until eighth grade.
“It was great to see her progress throughout her career at Napavine,” Schutz said. “Jessie has had a great year for us this year as well, and I know that she is excited to get ready for the district tournament.”
Ava Ondong and Nicholle Valentine both added eight points, Aubrey Williams scored six, and Alexis Schutz added five along with four assists and two steals.
Natalie Cardenas, Winlock’s only senior, tallied 11 points, four steals, three rebounds, and two blocks to lead the Cardinals in her final high school game.
Dakota Fox added two points, and Kendyl Guenther grabbed eight rebounds. Winlock finishes its season 2-18.
As the No. 3 seed in the district tournament, Napavine will play Toledo in the first round of the district tournament on Saturday.
