A 22-run second inning was more than enough for the Morton-White Pass softball team on Monday, when the Timberwolves defeated Winlock 27-5 in five innings.
Winlock struck in the first inning, and the game was tied at two after one, but the 22-run second erased any doubt of the outcome. In that inning, 26 Timberwolves came to the plate, and 13 of them got a base hit.
Bria Elkins had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in six runs, while Kyra Bowen and Siara May combined for five hits and drove in three runs apiece.
Ryelin Wiedenmann and Izzy Loucks had two hits and two RBIs each, and they combined to score six runs.
Mandy Miller had two hits and two RBIs for Winlock, Sam Paull added an RBI double, and Cali Geehan collected two hits and scored twice.
MWP (6-11, 1-6 C2BL) will head to Cathlamet to face Wahkiakum on Wednesday, while Winlock (0-18, 0-7 C2BL) will wrap up its season with a trip to Rainier on Thursday.
