MWP Can’t Keep Up with Freeman, Seagulls in District-Opening Loss

Posted

Though the Morton-White Pass girls basketball team hung around, it couldn’t keep up with a more consistent Raymond squad in the first round of the 2B District 4 tournament at Montesano Saturday afternoon, 60-41.

The Seagulls scored 15 points in each quarter, led by Karsyn Freeman’s game-high 31 points, proving to be too much for the Timberwolves.

Though MWP kept pace through a half, the T-Wolves offense couldn’t quite keep pace with Freeman. MWP was led by Keira Miller’s 20 points, with Natalia and Malia Armstrong and McKenzee Mays each adding another seven points.

The loss drops the Timberwolves to the consolation bracket, where they will play the loser of Forks and Rainier next Thursday at Castle Rock at 5:30 p.m.
