The Timberwolves had five runners in the top 13 on Thursday to finish first in a Central 2B League boys cross country meet at Toutle Lake High School.
David Martinez took third (18:17) and Hunter Brackett was fifth (19:39) for MWP, which tallied 41 points. Eric Brown was 10th (19:58). Garrett Clevenger (21:14) and Max Lowe (21:26) were 12th and 13th, respectively.
Rainier finished second with 47 points. Ryan Doidge was second in 18:11 and James Meldurm was seventh in 19:42.
Adna’s Jordan Stout took sixth (19:41). Ilwaco’s Daniel Quintana won the 5K boys race in 16:56.
On the girls side, Rainier’s Selena Niemi won in 21:05 for her fourth win of the season. MWP’s Ayricka Hughes was third in 23:01, and teammate Jordan Koetje was fifth in 24:01. None of the five schools in attendance were able to field a complete girls team.
MWP runs in the Apple Ridge Run Invite in Yakima on Saturday. Rainier and Adna both run in Toledo on Thursday.
