Mountaineers Still Searching For First Win After Loss to Ravens

Posted

Though they hung in for a while, Rainier couldn’t pick up its first win of the season against Raymond-South Bend Friday night, dropping a 34-12 contest on the road.

Ian Sprouffske threw for 209 yards, with two touchdowns, but again had problems limiting turnovers, throwing two interceptions. Kyle Peterson was the Mountaineers leading rusher with 19 yards. Jake Meldrum finished with six receptions for 124 yards and touchdown, and Hunter Howell hauled in four catches for 66 yards and Rainier’s other touchdown.

The Mountaineers will look to finish the season strong in a rematch of their week one thriller against Toledo on Thursday.
