Mountaineers Roll Through Cardinals for Fourth-Straight Win

Rainier freshman Jake Meldrum scored a game-high 18 points and Rainier careened past Winlock for its fourth-straight win in a 78-41 road victory on Thursday.

Mountaineers senior Ian Sprouffske added 17 points, freshman Josh Meldrum chipped in 14 and Thomas Ronne finished with nine.

Rainier shot a blazing 59% from the field (34 of 58) and knocked down six 3-pointers while winning the rebounding battle 29-25.

Winlock was led by Nolan Swofford’s team-high 17 points, while Cole Fray-Parmantier and Chase Scofield each finished with nine points and nine rebounds. The Cardinals shot 14 of 43 from the field.

Winlock (0-7) hosts Napavine at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Rainier (4-1) hosts Wahkiakum at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
