The Mossyrock boys basketball team survived a late push from Willapa Valley on Friday, overcoming a late Viking push for a 63-57 win.

Mossyrock (13-6, 11-2 1A CVL) led by nine at halftime, but Willapa Valley slowly closed the gap, getting as close as two late in the fourth. Mossyrock executed well in the final minutes, though, to come away with the victory.

Hunter Isom led the team in scoring with 16 points, while Zack Munoz added 15 while grabbing five steals and tallying five assists.

Easton Kolb had an incredible day in the paint, grabbing 16 rebounds while scoring 12 points and dishing out five assists.

As the No. 2 seed from the CVL, the Vikings have received a bye all the way to the district quarterfinal, which they will host on Saturday, Feb. 10. A win will put them in a winner-to-state semifinal against Oakville, the Coastal No. 1, on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
