The Morton-White Pass suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night, losing to Ilwaco in Morton 38-12.
The Timberwolves only trailed 12-6 at the halftime break, but it was a pick-six right before half that gave Ilwaco the lead.
A 20-point third quarter helped the Fishermen break the game open. Ilwaco’s Haddox Hazen threw three of his four touchdown passes in the quarter.
“The wheels fell off,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said. “We couldn’t defend the pass. We got some coverage issues to figure out … It was tough to watch.”
Offensively, the T-Wolves were able to tally 221 yards on the ground, including 117 yards on 28 carries from Kohen Ingalsbe, and Logan Mays was able to find the end zone twice.
It was a bittersweet finale in Morton for the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves, who will play their final three regular season games in White Pass before splitting prior to the 2026 season.
MWP (3-1) will be in White Pass next Friday, Oct. 3, to host Onalaska.
