A Tacoma man is facing a felony harassment charge after he allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife repeatedly on Aug. 30.

The victim’s neighbor called police after the victim received multiple text message threats from a phone number associated with her ex-husband, identified as Ian Christopher Sohayda, 44, and possibly saw Sohayda’s vehicle, a gray Buick, near her residence in Winlock the morning of Aug. 30.

Messages the victim received via text included “I do have a bullet with your name on it if I ever see your ugly f— face you fat tw–t,” “F—k your house, I brought my drill,” and “I want you dead an(d) I hope it’s me that does it,” according to court documents.

The victim said “she was in fear” and left her home at about 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 30. While she was driving, Sohayda allegedly called her and said, “Don’t worry, I’m not going to kill you, I’m just gonna beat you to an inch of your life.”

Sohayda allegedly continued calling the victim throughout the day, with officers noting multiple calls from Sohayda’s number to the victim’s phone while they were speaking with the victim.

An officer asked the victim to answer the phone to confirm it was Sohayda. When she did so, Sohayda allegedly was heard saying “You f—ing c—t, you called the cops” before hanging up.

Officers were unable to locate Sohayda that day.

He was charged Oct. 21 in Lewis County Superior Court with one count of felony harassment, domestic violence. The charge is a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Sohayda was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail just after 11:35 a.m. on Oct. 29, according to jail records.

Bail is set at $50,000.

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7.
