Tumwater’s Luke Brewer broke the Thunderbirds’ single-game 3-point record with 10 treys in a 69-27 win over Columbia River at the Cactus Jam in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday morning.

Brewer broke Danny Myers’s previous record of eight 3-pointers in a game, which was set in 2006.

Brewer  was on fire all morning, banging 10 of 15 3-point shots (67%) and knocking down 11 of 18 from the field (61%) to finish with a game-high 35 points.

He added six rebounds, two steals and two assists. It was another impressive outing for the junior, who scored 31 against Sacred Heart Prep of California on Tuesday.

Andrew Collins added eight points, five rebounds and four assists, while Tanner Brewer tallied six points and six boards.

Tumwater scored in double digits all four quarters, held the Rapids to single-digit scoring in all four frames and were buoyed by a huge 23-2 run in the fourth quarter.

The victory moves the Thunderbirds to 5-2 overall on the season. They host rival Black Hills on Jan. 4
