Love INC (in the name of Christ) of Lewis County will hold its annual Super Souper Supper benefit event on Saturday, March 15, to support its work in the community.

The nonprofit, now in its 35th year, served 556 families and provided over $20,000 in services to people in the community finding themselves struggling with necessities such as rent, utilities, food, gasoline, propane, laundry services or furniture, according to a news release.

“This was done in large part by our volunteers and by our faithful donors,” Love INC stated in the news release.

This year’s benefit is themed “Lifting People Up” and will be held at the Centralia Community Church of God at 3320 Borst Ave. in Centralia.

Tickets are $20 per person ahead of time or $25 at the door.

Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. for early registration and bidding. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and will consist of soup and salad.

The event “has something for everyone,” organizers said in the news release.

Donations up for grabs during the live auction include an overnight stay in a family suite with four water park wristbands and a $399 gift card from Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound; five yards of crushed gravel and beauty bark donated by Lael’s Landscape and Supply; four rounds of golf including a golf cart and range balls courtesy of Riverside Golf; a field blade and skinner blade with leather sheaths hand crafted by CGM Blades; a stainless steel NexGrill 5 Burner Gas Grill from Home Depot; steam train ride tickets for four; Stitch n Peace creatively designed handmade quilts; a complete driver's education course from Aloha Driving School; a five-piece outdoor furniture patio set with cushions and a tea table; and 10 pounds of angus beef organically and naturally raised with no GMOs or antibiotics.

Silent auction items donated from Smith's Mercantile and Stout Coffee and many other items will also be available.

Raffle Mania this year has over $1,300 in gift certificates and services from local businesses that include food, fun, self-care and “just about everything else you could imagine,” Love INC said in a news release.

The event will also feature a dessert dash, with desserts donated by Jeremy's Farm to Table, Katie's Kandies, Lucky N Lawless bakery, Market Street Bakery, Papa Bears West, Simply Frosted Cookies, Spiffy's Donuts and others.

“This year, we have an incredible guest speaker, Lois Tupyi, author of the book ‘Redemptive Compassion,’” Love INC said in the news release. “Lois served as executive director at the Treasure Valley Love INC affiliate in Nampa, Idaho for 20 years. She is a passionate and powerful speaker — you won't want to miss her.”

Tupyi will also offer a training session on redemptive compassion on Sunday, March 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Centralia Community Church of God.

“During this session we will explore thought-provoking questions such as ‘why the way we typically help people in need isn't always successful’ or ‘why saying no feels so unloving,” Love INC said in the news release. Lunch and a copy of the book “Redemptive Compassion” will be available for those who register early.

Love INC is also accepting registrations for an upcoming Faith & Finance class set to begin March 25. A participant study guide will be provided at no charge, but a 12-week commitment to this class is required. Registration for either course can be completed online at https://www.loveincoflewiscounty.org/ over the phone at 360-748-8611.
