Loggers Sweep Past Riverhawks

Onalaska junior Morgan Hamilton smashed a match-high 18 kills and the Loggers cruised past visiting Toledo in straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-15) in a 2BCL matchup Thursday.

Hamilton added 16 digs, was 9 of 10 serving and played excellent in serve-receive to help the Loggers move to 2-1 in league play.

Setter Dakota Hamilton had a team-high 21 assists, six kills and five digs, while outside hitter Hannah James added four kills, 10 digs and was 15 for 15 serving with only one hitting error.

“She has been almost 100% serving all year,” Onalaska coach Jen Hamilton said.

Raelee Holmes chipped in 11 digs and three back-row kills, while Jen Lipsey and Desi Smith each served 100% and Andi Oliver was commended for her performance in the middle.



“Not a bad week,” Hamilton said. “Two losses to Mossyrock and Toutle Lake.”

Toledo’s Brynn Williams collected two assists, five digs and three kills, while Aleena Bloomstrom had three digs and three kills, Lindsey Filla had one ace and seven digs and Jordynne Hensley added two aces and one kill.

Toledo’s Eden Jones contributed two kills and two blocks and Whitney Olson had one ace and five digs.

“We played really well defensively, we just couldn’t finish offensively,” Toledo coach Brianna Klingberg said.

Onalaska (6-3, 2-1 league) travels to Stevenson Wednesday. Toledo (3-4, 0-3 league) hosts Kalama on Tuesday.
