Loggers Crush RSB, Can’t Keep Up With Ducks in Quarters

After dominating Raymond-South Bend in the first round to stave off elimination, 12-2, the Onalaska baseball team couldn’t keep pace with Jackson Cox and No. 1 seed Toutle Lake Saturday in the 2B District 4 quarterfinals at Union High School in Camas, falling 10-0 in five innings.

The Loggers were dominant in Game 1, with Jeremy Larson pitching a complete five innings with one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and just one walk. Larson also went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the Loggers at the plate, and Rylan and Case McGraw each added RBIs, with Case racking up two to go along with two walks.

In the second game, Cox was just too much for the Loggers. The Oregon-signee went all five innings, striking out 11 and giving up just three hits. Ethan Cameron’s triple off Cox early in the game was notable, however, as Cox’s only runner to reach third base all season.

Rylan McGraw and Dominic Serl also recorded hits in the loss.

The Loggers will play Ilwaco in a loser-out contest at South Bend on Tuesday. The winner advances to play the loser of the Kalama and Napavine semifinal. The loser’s season is over.
