Loggers Crush Bulldogs After Long Drive South

Taking a one-score lead into the halftime break, the Onalaska football team came out of the half with a renewed focus and effort, crushing Stevenson in the gorge, 44-14, Friday night.

It was a back-and-forth first half, with the Loggers striking first thanks to a Rodrigo Rodriguez kick return touchdown to open the game, but the road team couldn’t separate until a surge in the second half that saw them score three touchdowns and pitch a shutout.

We have to improve every single week, we came off a big win last week, we’re trying to build on that win and our morale and learn,” Loggers coach Mazen Saade said. “That’s what we want to do. The kids did a great job this week prepping for Stevenson.”

Saade again credited Rylan McGraw for anchoring a strong offensive line that has really found its form in recent weeks, helping Rodriguez and quarterback Kayden Mozingo find holes and lots of rushing yards.

Rodriguez had 194 rushing yards with three touchdowns, and Mozingo managed 112 yards and two scores on the night.

“They’re growing up each week, we just need to keep digging,” Saade said. “Our focus is on us, we need to get better each week.”

The Loggers (3-4, 1-1 SWW South) will play against Adna at home on Friday in another league contest with huge postseason implications.
