Jessica Parrent, a singer from Chehalis, raised over $1,000 for her church by competing in the Christian singing competition “You, God’s Music.”
Although she did not win the competition, she made it to 38th place in the second round of voting with 2,653 votes. Voting in the competition was done by donations, and 40% of Parrent’s votes will be donated to the Jesus Name Pentecostal church of Chehalis Legacy Building Fund, totalling $1,061.20.
“Through the process of the competition, it opened up some opportunities for me!” Parrent said. “I hope that people that didn’t know about my music before this competition follow my Facebook page and subscribe to my YouTube channel to follow my journey of what will happen next!”
