Lewis County’s COVID-19 death toll reached 60 this week as public health officials released their most recent data report on Wednesday. The county’s weekly caseload was reported at 104 — an increase from the 69 cases the week prior. Those 104 cases bring the county to 4,420 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The increase is also reflected in the state’s data dashboard, which now shows Lewis County at a case rate of 211.8 per 100,000.

Good news in the county’s report included the fact that all congregate care outbreaks have been contained. In total, 29 congregate care outbreaks have been reported in Lewis County. Last week, one outbreak was still lingering.

The county also reported this week that 23.6% of Lewis County residents are fully vaccinated, and 29.6% of residents have received at least one dose. In total, 27,598 doses have been administered.

Residents in their 20s are still overrepresented in the total amount of cases reported in Lewis County.
