On Friday, five Lewis County PUD employees were honored for their roles in saving a motorist who was pinned by a vehicle in early January.

According to a post on Facebook, Lewis County PUD General Manager Chris Roden visited the PUD's Chehalis operations location to present a first quarter “You Rock” award to Todd Jensen, Chad Sahlin, Kenneth Harmanson, Jerrod Gale and Kaelin Jurek.

“In late January, the crew was traveling to a job site when they were flagged down by a bystander at Military and McGlaughlin Road,” according to the PUD. “It was pointed out that there was a car flipped over on its top in the ditch with a person trapped inside. The crew assessed the situation and discovered the person’s arm was pinned underneath the vehicle. They set up the line truck and lifted the car just enough to get the person’s arm free. The crew then stabilized the person until emergency responders arrived on scene.”

The “You Rock” awards are given to PUD employees who go above and beyond their professional duties and perform their jobs with excellence, according to Lewis County PUD.
