The Lewis County Foster Parent Association is looking for generous community members and organizations to donate toward making Christmas special for local foster children.

“Every year at Christmas time, we have a celebration for the children in Lewis County who are in these special homes,” the association wrote. “We love to have plenty of gifts to give these children, some of whom have never experienced a warm and loving Christmas with a supportive family. We would greatly appreciate your support in giving these children a Christmas of a lifetime.”

Purchasing a gift or making a cash donation will help brighten the holidays for children in foster, kinship or adoptive homes, the association stated. All cash donations will be converted to gift cards or be used to purchase specialized gifts.

“If you would like to put up a giving tree in a local business, church, school, etc., we have gift tags with age-specific items and sizes available,” the association wrote.

“Thank you in advance for your support. Your donations are greatly appreciated.”

The association is collecting gifts for 100 kids ages 3 and younger, 100 kids ages 4 to 8, 60 kids ages 9 to 12 and 60 kids ages 13 to 18.

Gifts can be mailed directly to the Lewis County Foster Parent Association at Centralia Christian Church, 1215 W. Main St., Centralia. Larger gifts can be dropped off. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 13.
