Lewis County Commissioner Lindsey Pollock Holding Meeting on Wind Turbines

Posted

An informational meeting concerning proposed county code changes and the potential installation of new wind turbines will be held by Lewis County Commissioner Lindsey Pollock this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Baw Faw Grange in Curtis.

The grange is located on 995 Boistfort Road.

The code in question revolves around governing the ability of outside agencies such as Weyerhaeuser and Scout Clean Energy to conduct research on land outside of the land’s intended use.

Currently, for example, forest land owned by the Department of Natural Resources can only have research done on it that revolves around forestry.

This meeting’s purpose will be preparation for the county commissioner meeting that will be held on Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. to make decisions on the topics discussed Thursday night.
