A Level 3 sex offender with convictions for sexual assault of children has registered to live as a transient in Lewis County, according to a notification from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Timothy Clark, 40, is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.

“The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense that requires registration with the sheriff’s office,” the sheriff’s office stated. “Further, their previous history places them in a classification level that reflects the potential to reoffend. The individual served the sentence imposed by the court and has properly notified the sheriff’s office of their current address. The law does not require this offender to do anything other than register.”

Clark is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes who weighs about 165 pounds and stands at about 5-foot-7.

The initial offense that required Clark to register as a sex offender occurred in 2005, when Clark was convicted in Cowlitz County Superior Court for third-degree rape. The offense involved Clark, who was 21 years old at the time, sexually assaulting a known 14-year-old girl who was not related to him. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison.

Clark was subsequently convicted in Cowlitz County Superior Court in 2014 for third-degree assault of a child with sexual motivation. The offense involved Clark, who was 29 years old at the time, sexually assaulting a known 10-year-old girl who was related to him. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison.

He was most recently convicted in Grant County Superior Court in 2019 for failure to register as a sex offender when he moved from Lewis County to Grant County.

“Clark has been identified as a Level 3 offender and a clear risk to reoffend and this community notification is required,” the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office stated.

“Using this public information to threaten, intimidate or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated by the law enforcement agencies of Lewis County,” the sheriff’s office stated. “This abuse could potentially terminate our ability to release this important information to the public.”
