A level 3 sex offender who reportedly admitted to molesting more than 100 children has registered at an address in Centralia, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Garth D. Snively, 69, registered at an address in the 1200 block of Logan Street, according to a sex offender bulletin from the Sheriff’s Office. He is not wanted for a crime.

Snively is required to register as a level 3 sex offender, meaning law enforcement believes him to be a high risk to reoffend.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Snively was convicted in 1994 in Snohomish County Superior Court on two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of indecent liberties. Snively was accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy he met in church between 1990 and 1993.

“It appears Snively abused his position within the church to gain access to the victim,” according to the bulletin.

Investigators believed Snively also abused other victims, and when serving a search warrant, reportedly found an “8-year-old non familial male” at Snively’s home.

“Over the course of the investigation, Snively has admitted to molesting kids since he was 12 years old and disclosed over 30 victims in an evaluation in 1993,” according to the bulletin.

In 2000, Snively reportedly told an evaluator he had abused more than 100 victims between the ages of 5 and 12. He reportedly gained access to victims through organizations such as scouting and mentorship groups and while working as a Sunday school teacher.

Snively is described as a white male standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 297 pounds. He has grey, balding hair and hazel eyes.
