Letter to the Editor: Will Centralia Mow Its Own Lawns After Scolding Citizens?

Posted

I read with amusement the article in the June 30 edition of The Chronicle about Centralia City Attorney Shannon Murphy-Olson essentially scolding citizens for not mowing their lawns and citing the infraction policy.

Every time I drive by the police training center on Mellen Street, I’m ashamed to see weeds and grass waist-high that never seem to get mowed or removed.

Does this mean the city does not have to abide by their own rules? I would think that if you want people to follow the rules, you would be a good example to them first.
