Like others I have come to know in our Lewis County community, I am an independent and common sense thinker.
And as a career government employee, I detest waste and have always understood that government has to be accountable to the taxpayers. So I find it maddening that Donald Trump is wasting hundreds of millions of dollars every day, cavorting with a completely undisciplined egomaniac billionaire to throw the global economy into chaos, and dismantling agencies we all rely on for veterans support, disbursement of our earned retirement benefits, and protection of clean air and water.
Further kicking sand in our faces, Trump and Musk’s ruthless pack of cronies jet around with entourages of high donors and Secret Service personnel, lodge in luxury at Trump’s golf resorts, and use national landmarks as backdrops to sell merchandise, blatantly enriching themselves at taxpayer expense.
Regardless of political affiliation, all of us need to stand up against this flagrant fraud, waste, and abuse, and demand accountability.
