This is Staff Appreciation Week. The Centralia School District has a team of dedicated staff who work tirelessly to serve our students and help them experience academic and personal excellence. Every position in our district is important to our students’ success and we are thankful and appreciative of the work of each and every member of our team.
We are thankful for our certificated staff. Certificated staff include our teachers, counselors, specialists, coaches and administrators. Our teachers plan and deliver instruction focused on each students’ needs and the standards. School counselors work tirelessly to support students’ personal growth. Our multilingual and special services staff provide the individual supports needed to help every student experience academic success in the classroom. Our coaches work long and hard hours to help our students develop not only as athletes, but also as individuals. Our administrators are learning leaders with unmatched grit, persistence and commitment to our students.
We are thankful for our support staff. Our support staff are essential to our district’s and our students’ success. Our Food Service Team serves breakfast and lunch with a smile each day, ensuring students have the nourishment they need to learn and grow. Our bus drivers are the first and last contact each day with students and ensure every student gets to and from school safely. The mechanics make sure our busses get students back and forth. Our custodians and maintenance staff take great pride in creating a clean, well-kept facility for students. Paraprofessionals do it all: recess supervisions, small groups and any other task that supports student success. The health room and health services staff provide band-aids, health services and the kind words that help things feel better. Office staff are the front lines of interaction with parents and visitors, answering questions, providing encouragement and making sure the school is organized and operating smoothly. Our district office staff work behind the scenes to be sure our entire district operates smoothly and students and staff have what they need to do their best work each day. The IT team ensures our students and staff have the technology they need for learning.
It takes every team member, every position, to create success for students. I am thankful and appreciative of the tremendous work of Team Centralia! I encourage you to thank the educators you know. They are making a positive difference in the lives of our students.
I am honored to serve as your superintendent. We have continued work to do, but with the dedicated team in Centralia.
