I think it is important that our vote reflect values, so I will be voting for Beverly Clark for Centralia School Board Position 2 this month. Beverly recognizes the need for effective district communication and is a strong advocate for transparency, especially regarding budgetary concerns.
She regards community schools as a function of those communities, and her pledge to make decisions with input from all of us — the city, port district, and school district — reflects her vision of Centralia as a healthy organism, which grows stronger through responsible stewardship.
I don’t mind taking care of my community, and I do appreciate it when I get a chance to elect leadership that shares that position. I know Beverly to be a dedicated parent and community steward, who devotes a significant amount of time and effort to improving the lives of the young people with whom she comes in contact. I have known her over 40 years, and Bev is genuinely committed to the improvement of our community through the improvement of educational opportunities for our young people.
