Aiden Riley Smith should be tried and convicted as an adult. He chose to nearly kill another citizen with his adult size, strength and body.
The excuse that his brain is not fully developed doesn’t make us safer from his kind. We deserve our safety at his expense. As it is, he could be released in five years as a little, bitty baby, or juvenile.
Let his record follow him as a warning to everyone else. Maybe he will go straight and be a good citizen, but would you take the chance that he won’t and will instead graduate to murder and mayhem as he gets older?
