Letter to the Editor: Stop Removing Statues and Provide Reasons for Building New Ones

Posted

Dear fellow Americans,

After thinking things over, I have a question for you to think about: Why do we need to remove the statues of generals and presidents, etc., from their places in the south?

Their actions at that time and in those places helped form our present United States of America. Note the words used: “at that time and in those places.”

Sure, we aren’t perfect. Nobody so far is. But they did what they felt was necessary and to remove them today won’t change that history one iota.

We would be much better off if we spent our time, effort and, yes, our money to attempt to make our present America something special, wonderful and worthy of having statues of our leaders in any place in America at all.

Think about it.
