Letter to the Editor: Our Future is Bright, Centralia Superintendent Says

Posted

On behalf of the Centralia School District, happy New Year! The Centralia School District wishes you a year filled with joy and happiness. As superintendent, I have great hope and excitement for our district and our students in 2022.

We faced unexpected and unforeseen challenges in 2021 and in the first half of the school year, but more than anything, our students, staff, families and community demonstrated resilience and grit. When I reflect back on 2021, I am filled with pride for the successes and accomplishments that were achieved. I am also filled with thankfulness. I am thankful for the support of our community and the many community partners that are helping our district and our students learn and grow. I am thankful for the dedication of our school board, our staff and our families who all continue to focus on serving our students well. I am awed at the resilience of our students and their desire to learn. The strengths of our community, staff, families and students will catapult us into success in 2022. Great things are going to happen in the coming year.

As a district, we remain committed to continued growth for ourselves and our students and to our three priorities for the school year:

• A positive culture in every classroom, school and across our district

• Powerful core instruction

• Student support systems

We are continuing to implement the specific action plans to develop each of these priorities, knowing they are key to student success and our vision of “All Students Achieving Academic and Personal Excellence.”

The new year will bring new challenges, but every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. We have tremendous strength as a team and as a community. I am filled with excitement for 2022: Our future is very bright!

I continue to be honored to serve as your superintendent. I look forward to what we will accomplish together for our students in the year ahead.
