The recent murder of the United Health Care CEO should open the eyes of the billionaire class of America.
For such a small segment of our society to control such a large portion of the country’s wealth is a disgrace. They should be ashamed of their plutocratic behavior.
How many homes, yachts and personal jets are enough for these hoarders of wealth when those of us who work for a living have little or no chance to own one home?
How is it possible that these uber rich pay a lower percentage of their incomes in federal taxes than an hourly worker?
During the 1950s, under Dwight Eisenhower, the tax rate was close to 90% on those of great wealth. A working man at that time could afford to support a family, own a home and send his children to college.
The interstate highway system was constructed during that time of fair taxation.
Those that value personal wealth above the wellbeing of the nation remind me of Scrooge McDuck sitting in his basement sifting through his piles of gold.
The French Revolution happened because of a great wealth disparity between peasants and plutocrats. We currently are experiencing a similar condition here. I hope it doesn’t become necessary for us peasants to roll out the guillotines.
