For years, Hope Alliance’s annual fundraising events — Walk-A-Mile and our golf tournament — have been a time for our community to come together in support of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Your generosity has made it possible for Hope Alliance to provide critical services in Lewis County, such as shelter, medical, legal, system-based advocacy, the 24/7 availability to speak or work with an advocate and providing other resources to those in crisis.
Unfortunately, this year we are facing significant uncertainty.
Both federal and state funding, which are essential to our operations, is at risk. Without knowing whether we will receive the necessary funding to continue serving survivors, we have made the difficult decision to forgo our annual fundraising events.
We deeply value the support of our community, and we do not want to accept local donations until we have clarity on our ability to sustain our mission long-term.
This decision was not made lightly. Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault rely on organizations like Hope Alliance to find safety, healing and a path forward. The potential loss of funding threatens these life-saving services, and we are doing everything we can to advocate for the resources needed to keep our doors open.
We remain hopeful that we will receive the necessary funding and, if we do, we fully intend to resume our fundraising efforts next year. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay engaged, help spread awareness, advocate for survivor support services and stand with us in ensuring that no one in our community faces violence or trauma alone.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. We will keep you informed as we navigate these challenges together.
With gratitude,
Kris Camenzind
