Once again, some folks take aim at The Chronicle on a controversial issue — blaming the messenger rather than the message.
A dedicated newspaper has an obligation to print all the pertinent news, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, because the public has a right to know.
Society is finding out the hard way that perversion comes in all colors, faiths and occupations — whether it be pediatricians or priests. Clever predators often have a benevolent cover, like Michael Jackson’s “Wonderland.” And they usually select the most vulnerable victims — not relatives of prominent people, neighbors or those with backbones.
A professional may help 98 percent of those he deals with, but prey on those selected from the 2 percent. An ethical news source cannot look the other way. The Chronicle does not and I am proud of Publisher Michael Wagar and his award-winning staff.
