Letter to the Editor: A Vote for Men in Women’s Sports

Posted

U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez just voted to allow biological men to continue to participate in women’s sports. This is an insult to all the women who worked to gain parity in a world dominated by men. She claimed to be an independent thinker with her own mind, although she voted in lockstep with every Democrat.

Women train for years to be the best athletes possible and will now lose to an artificial competitor. They will see scholarships, endorsements and fame fade quickly. Allowing biological males in women sports has shown the imbalance in swimming, powerlifting, running, tennis and mixed martial arts, not just what’s made the recent news.

Democrats claim to respect science and believe they own the mantle of women’s rights; this vote was a slap in the face to all women. Biological differences do exist between the sexes. Under Trump, the Army implemented a new six-event physical fitness test and women were tested to the same standards as males. As required by Congress, a three-year study by the Rand Corporation was conducted and found an adjustment to the standards was warranted. From October 2021 to April 2022, 44% of women tested failed to pass, as did 7% of males. These results were consistent throughout the study. The military was forced to lower the standards for women and older men. The Secretary of Army Christine Wormuth (a woman) admitted the standards were detrimental to female retention. This alone shows a disparity exists between men and women.

Unfortunately, in Washington schools our students are forced to accept biological males and females to use the bathroom of their respective choice, and yes, it is a choice. This has not resulted in any known problems, though I’m sure some feel uncomfortable but have no recourse but to allow it. Unlike prisoners currently incarcerated in the female facility at Purdy. In 2021, a lawsuit by the Women’s Liberation Front exposed the presence of at least seven biological men in the Purdy prison, one of whom had been convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl. All based on their claim to be transgender.

Last year, Dori Monson reported his sources confirmed there were over 150 men trying to get transferred to Purdy, a facility where many women have been abused by men prior to incarceration. There can be several motivations from safety to the possibility of sex. If any of these men desire a transfer, I submit they should receive free gender affirming care prior to transfer.

The Democrats in Olympia passed a bill to essentially hide runaway children from their parents and to allow gender affirming care without parental consent. Based on the words of a child, this is from the very people who say children can’t buy cigarettes. This is the media’s job to report these behind-the-scenes antics.
