Letter to the Editor: A Response to Reader’s ‘Wake Up America’ Letter

Posted

I can’t stand it anymore, I must reply to Doug Findley of Randle (Wake up America). I’m not a great writer or debater but I will try to get my point across.

Doug, if you watched FOX news then you would know the Air Force has been refueling at that Scotland airport since the days of Bush one. But CNN, NBC, etc. won’t tell you that fact.

If you read the Wall Street Journal, you would know that all Trump properties are way down in occupancy and income. Trump has lost over a billion dollars since becoming your president. The WaPo and NYT probably won’t tell you the Trump hotel was the cheapest in town for our USAF pilots to stay in (sent there by USAF, not the President).

The border wall? Both Republicans and Democrats have had their chance (majority of congress and presidency) in the last few decades to change the immigration laws, but failed to do so. Ask yourself, do you really want open borders and to  let anyone — criminals, terrorists, and all  — in and get free medical and welfare? Who pays for that? You do!

Doug, if you broke the law, were found guilty, and sent to jail would your children be sent there too? No, you would be separated from your kids. Sorry, it’s the law. A long time ago congress wrote the present law against illegally crossing the border.

I am scribing twenty to fifty pages of debate right now. OK, there it all is, with every possible topic you want to include. Now all those pages go into a pot of boiling water and it all melts down to this:

When you go to the polls and vote you are voting for (1) socialism (Democrat), throwing out our constitution, or (2) capitalism (Republican), keeping our constitution. I don’t think it really matters who is on the ticket, they are just puppets to a broken system, but it is still better than other countries.

Have you taken note of the protesters in Hong Kong? Those young people are fighting for their freedom, and some are giving the ultimate sacrifice to the cause. Ummm, just like our military has fought for our freedom. What are we doing with our freedom? Only short answer I have is being stupid.

Want all those free things the socialists promise you (college, money, medical, and no guns)? I suggest you go to Venezuela for a few months (or permanently) and ask them how the socialism of the last twenty years as worked out for them.

Doug, I respect your views, but I am not voting for them.

In my opinion, President Trump is his own worst enemy. He is rude and crude, gets facts wrong and lies just like thousands of other politicians (nothing new there). The best thing Donald Trump has done or will do in his entire life was to prevent Hillary Clinton from becoming president. And for this I will, again, under God, vote for Trump!
